Your Guide to the Area
Kerargon sits just outside Landudec in South Finistère, the south-western tip of Brittany. You are about 20 minutes from the city of Quimper and minutes from the Atlantic — close enough to reach a different beach, port or village every day of the week. Here is where to go.
Quimper
20 km · 25-min driveThe historic capital of Cornouaille is your nearest city. Its twin-spired Gothic cathedral, cobbled medieval quarter, faïence potteries and riverside crêperies make the perfect outing — and its TGV station and airport are how most guests arrive.
Beaches of the Baie d'Audierne
7–20 kmSome of Brittany's finest sand is on the doorstep. Penhors (7 km) is a lifeguarded Blue Flag beach with a surf school and sand-yachting; the wild dunes of the Baie d'Audierne stretch for miles; and La Torche, about 25 minutes south, is the region's premier surf and kitesurf spot.
Pointe du Raz & Cap Sizun
about a 40-min driveHead west to the dramatic, wind-carved Pointe du Raz — the westernmost point of mainland France — and the quieter Pointe du Van, with clifftop sections of the GR34 coast path, sea-bird colonies and views across to the Île de Sein.
Audierne & the fishing ports
about 15 kmThe pretty port of Audierne lands langoustine and sea bass daily, and nearby Le Guilvinec is France's leading fresh-fish port, where you can watch the trawler fleet come in each afternoon.
Locronan & the Pays Bigouden
about a 25-min driveLocronan, one of 'Les Plus Beaux Villages de France', has a granite Renaissance square beloved by film-makers. To the south, the Pays Bigouden keeps Breton lace, costume and lively markets alive around Pont-l'Abbé.
